"HS2 Euston Station Enabling Works: London Underground Traction Substation and Ventilation Shaft" by Dr Dimitrios Litsas and Susanne Petzold (Mott MacDonald)

Biography:

Dimitrios Litsas is a Tunnel Engineer at the engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald since September 2018, specialising in design and structural analysis of sprayed concrete lined as well as segmental lined tunnels to Eurocode and US standards. He graduated as civil engineer from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), while holds a PhD degree in tunnelling field (PhD thesis: Investigation of tunnelling-induced ground movements in urban environment) and MSc in Analysis and Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures and a MEng in Civil Engineering from NTUA.

Susanne Petzold is a Tunnel Engineer at the engineering consultancy Mott MacDonald and has over 4 years of experience in small and large diameter tunnels in urban areas. She graduated from the RWTH Aachen University in Germany specialising in hydraulic construction and structural engineering in 2015. Since then Susanne has been working on major infrastructure projects in the UK and internationally, developing her expertise in segmental and sprayed concrete lining design. These projects include Cross Rail 2, High Speed 2 and Bart Silicon Valley Extension Phase 2.
